So you think you are all set to take that exciting cruise trip. Think again. If this is your first time, one crucial thing that you need to know is that each cruise is different from the other, in terms of the decorum and dress requirements. If your ship is one of the stylish crystal ships you will be required to carry normal resort wear for the day and elegant (preferably dark shaded) clothing for the night. Men are advised to carry along their tuxedos or suits.

On Holland American ships you can dress casually during the day while night wear will depend on the destination or the activity that is being organized. If you are lucky you might get to attend formal occasions which are classy and extremely fun. To not be out of place make sure you have a swanky evening dress or suit.

The good thing about Norwegian cruise liners is flexible dining hours. So most of the times you can get away on anything casual expect when special activities are being organized. You might have to attend formal parties at night. So carry a formal dress with you.

Seabourn Liners used to be very strict about formal clothing till not very long ago. But lately things have changed. Dress causal yet chic by the day and classy by night to fit in and enjoy the awesome food and ambience to the hilt.

Another comparatively formal cruise is the Silversea. They require you to dress chic during the day and night. The atmosphere is such that you would out of place if you are not dressed proper. If you want a laid back, more casual option you can try Windstar cruises.
These liners let to be casual throughout the day. But casual does not mean your nightdress. You should still manage to fit into the classy crowd.
